سنڌو سڀيتا جي وارثن دنيا اندر پهريون ڀيرو زراعت جو بنياد وڌو، فصل پوکيا ۽ ان اپايو. سنڌ ماٿري جي سڀيتا جي وارثن جي زرعي زندگي بابت آمريڪي آرڪيالاجسٽ ۽ آرڪيوباٽنسٽ (Archaeobotonist) اسٽيون ويبر ان بابت تفصيلي تحقيق ڪئي آهي. هن ناردرن اريزونا يونيورسٽي مان انٿروپلاجي ۾ بي ايس ۽ ايم اي جون ڊگريون حاصل ڪيون. پاڻ 1989ع ۾ پينسلونيا يونيورسٽي مان آرڪيالاجي جي شعبي ۾ ڊاڪٽريٽ جي ڊگري حاصل ڪئي. اسٽيون ويبر واشنگٽن اسٽيٽ يونيورسٽي جي اينٿروپلاجي ڊپارٽمينٽ ۾ ايسوسيئيٽ پروفيسر آهي. پاڻ 1982ع ۾ ايٿنوبائيولاجي سوسائٽي جو بنياد وجهندڙن ۾ شامل هو ۽ ايٿنوبائيولاجي بابت تحقيقي جنرل شايع ڪرڻ جي به هن شروعات ڪئي.

اسٽيون ويبر 1994ع کان پاڪستان، انڊيا ۽ ٿائيلينڊ سميت ايشيا جي ڪيترن ئي ملڪن ۾ قديم دور جي سڀيتائن ۾ زراعت بابت تحقيق ڪري رهيو آهي. هن سنڌو ماٿري جي سڀيتا جي زرعي معيشت بابت هڪ پراجيڪٽ ”زراعت ۽ سنڌو سڀيتا“ تحت 2005ع ۾ کوجنا ڪئي. سندس تحقيق جو موضوع آڳاٽي دور جي ماڻهن طرفان فصل پوکڻ طرف لاڙو هو. هن ان ڳالهه تي تحقيق ڪئي ته آخر قديم دور جي ماڻهن کي فصل پوکڻ جي ضرورت ڇو پيش آئي ۽ هنن اوائل ۾ ڪهڙن ٻوٽن کي هٿراڌو طور اپائڻ طرف اڳڀرائي ڪئي. قديم دور جي ماڻهن قدرتي ماحوليات سان ڪيئن مهاڏو اٽڪايو. ويبر موجب ماحولياتي تبديلين يعني برساتن گهٽجي وڃڻ سبب زراعت کي ڪافي ڌڪ رسيو ۽ زراعت جو پوئتي پوڻ سنڌو سڀيتا جو زوال جو هڪ سبب هيو. پاڻ سنڌو ماٿري جي سڀيتا جي دور ۾ زراعت بابت ڪيترن ئي ڪتابن ۽ تحقيقي مقالن جو مصنف آهي.
