محمد رفيق مغل سنڌ، پنجاب، بلوچستان،
خيبر پختون خواهه ۽ ملڪ جي اترين قبائلي علائقن ۾ قديم ماڳن جي سروي ۽ کوٽائي جي
سلسلي ۾ عالمي سطح جي ماهرن سان گڏجي ڪوششون ورتيون. هن ڪيترائي قديم ماڳ به
دريافت ڪيا آهن، جنهن سان سنڌو سڀيتا بابت وڌيڪ ڄاڻ حاصل ٿي آهي. ايم آر مغل
پاڪستان ۾ ڪيترائي ميوزم به قائم ڪرڻ ۾ ڪردار ادا ڪيو آهي. جن ۾ 1994ع ۾ اسلام
آباد ميوزم، ملتان ميوزم، گلگت ميوزم، سوات ميوزم ۽ جپاني آرڪيالاجسٽن جي مدد سان
سيدو شريف ميوزم شامل آهن. کيس پاڪستان حڪومت طرفان 1959ع ۾ آرڪيالاجيڪل ميوزم
هڙاپا جو ڪيوريٽر انچارج مقرر ڪيو ويو. ان عهدي تي هن 2 سال 1961ع تائين ذميواريون
نڀايون. جنهن بعد پاڻ پاڪستان سرڪار طرفان آرڪيالاجي جي کاتي ۾ فيلڊ آفيسر مقرر
ڪيو ويو. پاڻ ان عهدي تي 1961ع کان 1966ع تائين پنج سال ڪم ڪندو رهيو. بعد ۾ کيس
ترقي ڏئي اسسٽنٽ ڊائريڪٽر مقرر ڪيو ويو. ان عهدي تي پاڻ پهريان 2 سال 1966ع کان
1967ع تائين ۽ بعد ۾ ٻيهر 1971ع کان 1973ع تائين ذميواريون نڀايون. 1973ع ۾ کيس
ٻيهر ترقي ڏئي ڊائريڪٽر مقرر ڪيو ويو. پاڻ 1973ع کان 1977 ۽ بعد ۾ 1982ع کان 1983ع
تائين ان عهدي تي 5 سالن تائين ڪم ڪندو رهيو. ايم آر مغل کي 1983ع ۾ پاڪستان سرڪار
طرفان ڊائريڪٽر آرڪيالاجي مقرر ڪيو ويو. ان عهدي تي پاڻ 1983ع کان 1988ع ۽ بعد ۾
1989ع کان 1993ع تائين 9 سالن تائين خدمتون سرانجام ڏنيون. کيس 1979ع ۾ نيشنل
ميوزم ڪراچي جو به ڊائريڪٽر مقرر ڪيو ويو. ان عهدي تي پاڻ 1980ع تائين هڪ سال ڪم ڪيو.
ايم آر مغل 1993ع کان 1996ع تائين سنڌ ۽ پنجاب ۾ قديم تاريخي ماڳن بابت سروي ۽
دستاويز تيار ڪرڻ واري پراجيڪٽ جو ڊائريڪٽر به رهيو.
رفيق مغل سنڌو سڀيتا تي تحقيق جي
حوالي سان ڪيترن ئي بين الاقوامي مشنز سان به گڏجي ڪم ڪيو. پاڻ 1958ع ۾ چارسده جي
قديم ماڳ تي کوٽائي ۾ سر مورٽيمر ويلر سان گڏ بهرو ورتو. جڏهن ته 1960ع ۽ 1966ع ۾
جارج ايف ڊيلز سان گڏ ملير ندي جي پسگردائي ۽ مڪران جي سامونڊي ڪناري تي سنڌو
سڀيتا جي ماڳن بابت تحقيق ڪئي. هن 1990ع ۾ جپان جي ماهر ايڇ فجيوارا سان گڏ هڙاپا
دور ۾ چانورن جي پوک بابت کوجنا ڪئي. جڏهن ته 1996ع ۾ آمريڪي ماهر ريتا پي رائيٽ
سان گڏ هڙاپا ۽ ان جي پسگردائي ۾ سروي جو ڪم ڪيو.
ايم آر مغل سنڌو سڀيتا جي ڪيترن ئي
قديم ماڳن جي کوٽائي به ڪرائي. جن ۾ 1973ع ۽ 1974ع ۾ جهڪر، 1975ع ۾ ملير ۾ پٿر دور
جا ماڳ، 1967ع ۽ 1992ع ۾ هڙاپا، 1971ع ۽ 1976ع ۾ جلالپور، 1974ع ۾ جهنگ ۽ 1960ع ۾
ستڪاجن در جا قديم ماڳ شامل آهن. سنڌ ۾ عرب فتح کان اڳ ۽ پوءِ جي دور جي ماڳن
منصوره، ڀنڀور ۽ ڀيرو ڀام جي به کوٽائي ڪرائي. پاڻ سنڌ ۾ نواب شاهه، جيڪب آباد،
ٺٽي، ملير ندي جي پسگردائي، سکر روهڙي جي پٿري ماڳن، ڪراچي ۽ ٿاڻو بولا خان،
ڪوهستان، ننگر پارڪر ۾ به پراڻي ۽ نئين پٿر دور جي قديم ماڳن تي کوجنا ڪئي. ايم آر
مغل جا سنڌو سڀيتا تي ڪيترائي ڪتاب، مقالا ۽ رپورٽون شايع ٿيل آهن. سندس اهي مقالا
مختلف ملڪن برطانيه، فرانس، اٽلي، جرمني، آمريڪا، بحرين، جاپان، ايران ۽ انڊيا جي
بين الاقوامي معيار جي رسالن ۾ شايع ٿيندا رهيا آهن. سندس ڪيترائي ڪتاب ۽ مقالا
جپاني، فرينچ، جرمن ۽ سنڌي ٻولي ۾ ترجمو ڪري به شايع ڪيا ويا آهن.
