David A. Hodell

ناميارو آمريڪي سائنسدان ڊيوڊ اي هوڊيل 1958ع ۾ ڄائو. پاڻ ڌرتي ڄاڻو (جيالاجسٽ) ۽ موسمياتي تبديلين جو ماهر سائنسدان تسليم ڪيو ويندو آهي. هوڊيل 1980ع ۾ ورمونٽ يونيورسٽي University of Vermont مان جيالاجي جي شعبي ۾ بي اي جي ڊگري حاصل ڪئي ۽ بعد ۾ يونيورسٽي آف رهوڊي آئزلينڊ University of Rhode Island مان 1986ع ۾ اوشين گرافي Oceanography ۾ ڊاڪٽريٽ جي ڊگري حاصل ڪئي. پاڻ هن وقت ڪيمبرج يونيورسٽي جي ارٿ سائنس ڊپارٽمينٽ ۾ جيالاجي جو پروفيسر آهي. ان سان گڏ ڪليري ڪاليج جو فيلو به آهي. ان کان اڳ پاڻ فلوريڊا يونيورسٽي ۾ 1986ع کان 2008ع تائين جيالاجي جو پروفيسر رهيو. هوڊيل 1996ع کان 2008ع تائين اسٽيبل آئسوٽوپ ليبارٽري Stable Isotope Laboratory  جو ڊائريڪٽر به رهيو. پروفيسر هوڊيل 2007ع ۾ آمريڪن جيو فزيڪل يونين جو فيلو به چونڊيو ويو.

ڊيوڊ هوڊيل سنڌو سڀيتا جي دور ۾ موسمياتي تبديلين تي جديد سائنسي بنيادن تي تحقيق ڪري رهيو آهي. پاڻ سنڌو سڀيتا جي موسمياتي تبديلين بابت پراجيڪٽ جو مکيه سپروائيزر آهي. ان پراجيڪٽ ۾ آرڪيالاجي ۽ اينٿروپلاجي جو ماهر ڪيمرون پيٽرائي به ساڻس گڏجي ڪم ڪري رهيو آهي. پاڻ ان پراجيڪٽ تحت انهن نتيجن تي پهتو آهي ته سنڌو سڀيتا جي پوئتي پوڻ جو مکيه سبب ماحولياتي يعني موسمياتي تبديليون هيون. 2100 ق م ۾ برساتون گهٽجي وڃڻ سبب هن تهذيب جو زوال شروع ٿيو.
